Arizona – From Horseshoe Bend to Antelope Canyon

After visiting Monument Valley we drove to the town of Page, a gateway to both incredible landmarks and adventure sports. we crossed back and forth between the states of Arizona and Utah before we reached the town sitting alongside Lake Powell. We booked a tour of Antelope Canyon for 1pm, which provided perfect lighting in early December. The Canyon is easy to reach being only a 10 minute drive out of town. Our guide walked our group through the canyon, pointing out various formations and showing us the best places to take photos as the light highlighted the stunning curvature of the rock. The canyon can get quite narrow in places, but is easy to walk through. Next we drove to Horseshoe Bend. I remember seeing photos as a child, already making my list of places I wanted to go travelling when I grew up. It was even better in real life. A ten-minute walk along a dirt path takes you to the viewing platform, giving uninterrupted views over the canyon. The blue green water is so far down, perfectly winding its way back around the rocky formation that really resembles a giants chair. The sheer size is breathtaking. A day of natural beauty sums up my time in Page.
