Bath – Thermae Bath Spa – Relaxation awaits!
After visiting the ancient Roman Baths (one of the highlights of the City of Bath) I could not resist trying the therapeutic waters of the Thermae Bath Spa. After looking at the menu of various treatments and bathing options available I decided the 2 and a half hour bathing / spa experience was the one for me.
I started my bathing in the rooftop open air pool. Whilst the grey rain clouds were threatening, the blue sky above it was almost surreal. The air was so cold and the water so warm at 33.5 degrees. I then moved to the indoor bath with flowing currents, grand columns and a lazy river. Massage jets were a welcome treat on my tired muscles.
Lastly, I tried the amazing smelling aroma steam rooms and alternated with the invigorating ice chamber. These areas made me feel like I was really part of the Roman era. What a great way to spend an afternoon – by immersing myself in the attraction the city of Bath is famous for.
