Christo Rei Monument in Lisbon
Taking a trip up to the Christo Rei provided unbeatable views over the city of Lisbon. It was built to watch over the city’s inhabitants and at a height of 30 metres, it’s only 8 meters smaller than its counterpart – Rio’s famous Christ the Redeemer statue, which was its inspiration. Along with beautiful blue skies and picturesque views, I was lucky enough to witness a wedding taking place and although the blushing bride was finding it tricky to negotiate the cobbled ground in her heels, the Christo Rei must have been an unforgettable spot for a romantic storybook wedding.
