Koh Samui – Idyllic Paradise in Thailand

It’s difficult to go wrong in Thailand, in a country that has so much to offer, its often just a question of what part in which to focus. With the wonderful excuse of a destination wedding invite, Koh Samui was effectively picked for us and so we had eight beautiful nights in this idyllic paradise to play with.

The wedding itself was wonderful but after the celebrations we decided to stay at the Silavadee Pool Spa Resort and explore for a few days on our own. It did however prove difficult to tear ourselves away from the bewitchingly magnificent resort. From the moment we were greeted at reception the outside world faded into insignificance.

Every detail, every view, every morsel of food was divine. Infinity pools looked out onto the Thailand Gulf as boulders below punctuated the lapping waves, a private beach offered an oasis of hammock strewn wonder and we found ourselves constantly thinking and dreaming of our next meal, where we could once again sample the excellence of the cuisine on offer.

For what we wanted and what we needed, Silavadee and indeed Koh Samui itself were perfect. With an unceasing wanderlust, it’s not often I find myself wanting to revisit the same places but with the experience we had, Koh Samui is a very strong contender.
