The View In San Carlos de Bariloche, Argentina

Written on Sunday, December 20, 2015 by The View In San Carlos de Bariloche

I love my job, I’m passionate about people and places but Argentina’s San Carlos de Bariloche could be pretty close to stealing me away! It’s a historic ski village that’s large enough to have all the amenities but still retains its small town charm. There’s a European feel to it but with a distinctive and delightful South American twist. There’s fantastic local and international cuisine and all of this is set astride a pristine lake in the middle of the Andes at the gateway to Patagonia.

I took many walks through surrounding hills but the walks through Parque Nacional Nahuel Huapi were particularly jaw dropping. Tracks snaked their way through the mighty pine forests and impossibly clear lakes lapped gently at the shores. With every incline I was rewarded with stunning panoramic views and the opportunity for some of the finest landscape photography in South America. With such wonderful locals and world class wine in abundance, it is of little wonder that I will undoubtedly return again one day.

More Argentina please
